I’ve been a proud resident of this community for 18 years and a dedicated business owner. I previously served as President of a 501(c)(7) nonprofit corporation, giving me extensive experience in the laws, regulations, and fiduciary responsibilities required to protect an organization and its members.
Professionally, I spent 23 years as Vice President of a healthcare technology company, managing services for more than 2,860 acute care facilities and over 40,000 non-acute care locations nationwide. After retiring in 2012, I became a partner in a roofing company that now operates from New Jersey to Florida and employs more than 140 people here in Florida.
If elected, my focus will be simple: ensure that every decision made by the board is in the best interest of our residents and our neighborhood as a whole. I believe in strong stewardship, responsible spending, and keeping our community a place we’re all proud to call home.

As a resident of Sykes Cove for almost 4 years with my beautiful wife of 14 years and two sons (10 and 8), I care deeply about the success, growth, and well-being of our neighborhood.
Since relocating to Brevard County from Tampa in 2022, I have fully embraced the community and have made many connections throughout the neighborhood and the greater Merritt Island area. As a proud United States Marine Corps veteran, I bring the values of service, leadership, and commitment into every role I take on. I am currently the Director of Cruise Operations at Port Canaveral, the 2nd busiest cruise port in the world, overseeing all of the daily cruise operations, logistics, and supervising over 35 employees. I play a vital role in new construction and renovations of cruise terminals and garages.
Shortly after moving to the area, I joined the Port Canaveral Propeller Club, which promotes the Maritime Industry and Youth Education. I will be the club President this coming year after serving my full terms as 1st and 2nd Vice President. My family and I have participated in several Propeller Club/Keep Brevard Beautiful port, beach and boat ramp cleanups. I am active in the Merritt Island Little League. Both of my sons are very athletic and active. I am the Manager of their AAA Kid Pitch team this season. Go Boltz. You can see us in the front yard practicing most evenings if we're not at the ball field. I believe these experiences have given me the skills and perspective necessary to serve our community effectively.
If elected, I am committed to:
-Keeping communication transparent, honest, and respectful between the board and homeowners.
-Making sure HOA resources are managed wisely and responsibly.
-Backing projects that protect property values while improving the quality of life for everyone in the neighborhood.
-Encouraging neighbors to get involved and helping build a strong sense of community.
It would be an honor to serve our community and contribute to maintaining Sykes Cove as a safe, welcoming, and desirable place to live. I appreciate your consideration and support.

I have been a resident in Sykes Cove for 21 years. I was a member of the Board for 2 years sometime around 2007, my duties were Communications and Security staying connected with the Sherriff and County Commissioner's office. Worked with the Architectural Review Committee and I was a volunteer getting things done. Outside the community I was a member of Parks and Recreational Advisory board and a Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Docent.

My name is Rebecca Hauser, and I am submitting my ballot to continue serving as a member of the HOA Board for the Sykes Cove Association. I have been honored to serve on the board for over three years and would love the opportunity to continue contributing to our community.
I’m a mom of three who love spending time at the park with their friends. My husband works at NASA and is currently serving in the Army, where he has dedicated over 20 years of service. You’ll often see him lending a hand around the neighborhood as well.
In my role on the board, I regularly meet with vendors, gather bids, and work directly with contractors to ensure projects are completed properly. I oversee our vendors each month to make sure the common grounds are well-maintained and communicate with the board promptly when issues arise.
Looking ahead, I would love to see more community events that bring neighbors together and help grow our community into an even more connected, neighborly place. It has been a privilege to serve, and I would be grateful for the chance to continue helping care for and strengthen our neighborhood.
My name is Alicia, and I am excited to submit my nomination for the Sykes Cove HOA
Board. I purchased my home in this neighborhood when my son was an infant, with the
hope that he would one day walk to Lewis Carroll Elementary alongside his neighborhood
friends. This community has played a central role in my family's life, and I’m deeply
invested in its continued growth and well-being.
I previously had the privilege of serving on the Board in 2022 and 2023 as Vice President
and Chair of the Architectural Review Committee. During that time, I worked to uphold the
standards of our community while balancing homeowner interests and long-term
sustainability. I stepped down in 2023 to focus on my family and career, but I’m now ready
and eager to jump back in.
I work in affordable housing, where I’ve gained a deep appreciation for the importance of
strong communities, sound fiscal management, and the role housing plays in individual
and collective well-being. I hope to bring this perspective to the Board, working to keep our
neighborhood a safe, attractive, and financially responsible place to live.
In addition to my professional experience, I remain involved in our broader Merritt Island
community. I am active in the PTO at my son’s preschool, and I am committed to being an
engaged and positive presence in both our neighborhood and the surrounding area.
It would be an honor to once again serve our wonderful community, and I respectfully ask
for your support.

My name is Kelly Rubottom, I am honored to announce my candidacy for a position on the board of Directors of our Homeowners Association. As a resident of Sykes Cove Community for 5 years, I have developed a deep appreciation for the values, safety, and sense of community that make our neighborhood such a special place to live. I am seeking this role because I believe in being an active part of maintaining and improving our community for current and future residents.
My professional background is more than 15 years in recruiting, human resources and project management, where I have successfully overseen large teams, managed budgets, filled hundreds of positions annually and partnered with leadership on workforce planning and community hiring. These experiences have strengthened my ability to listen, collaborate, make informed decisions, and balance diverse perspectives—skills that are directly valuable to serving on our HOA board.
I am running for our HOA Board because I strongly believe that we must protect and preserve thestructure and leadership of our community. We have history of low funds, the size of the small community and the real risk of losing property value if the HOA is not preserved. This is a risk we CANNOT TAKE. Together, we can safeguard what has been built and ensure our community continues to thrive. I would be grateful for your support in this upcoming election and for the opportunity to represent you on board.
Resident of Merritt Island for 55 years, with the last 15 here in beautiful Sykes Cove. Graduate of Rollins College and Florida Institute of Technology. I retired from NASA in 2018 after 35 years at Kennedy Space Center. So I am a local girl who’s passionate about our community. My skillset includes financial and contract management, communications and special events. I’ve previously served 3+ years on the SCCA board prior to 2023.
